Many older digital shower models are now obsolete, with spare parts increasingly difficult to source. At TED Digital, we have developed practical retrofit solutions to restore full functionality to your bathroom with minimal visible disruption.
Our Retro digital shower systems feature oversized backplates specifically designed to cover the larger holes left by most existing digital shower controls. They can be mounted vertically or horizontally and work with many popular makes – and, if you can access the pipework, even upgrades from concealed thermostatic valves.
Our showers are designed for modern high-pressure systems (1 bar or more). If you have a low-pressure gravity-fed system, you must install a universal twin-impeller shower pump to feed the processor. We recommend the Stuart Turner Showermate 2-bar as a reliable budget option.
Traditional bathrooms suit the Retro Traditional model with its elegant octagonal 200 x 120mm backplate. For modern bathrooms, choose the Retro Large Square (200 x 110mm) or Retro Large Round (185mm diameter) backplates for a clean, contemporary finish. If selecting the Large Round, check your existing mounting hole locations carefully to ensure full coverage.
The Retro Solo single outlet (60mm diameter round backplate) is perfect for replacing circular controls, wall-mounted basin mixers or bath fillers. For 2 or 3 outlets, the Retro systems give full independent control of multiple shower heads.
Our system requires a dedicated data cable. Ideally, your existing cable should run in conduit for straightforward replacement. For Crosswater Generation 2 installations we offer plug-and-play adapter cables; for other systems, our plugs can be professionally spliced onto the existing cable by a competent installer.
Add a Retro wireless remote (£149) to start the shower before you step in. It can be mounted anywhere nearby and pairs easily with the included receiver.
All systems include a 5-year warranty. No registration required - simply keep your invoice.

This customer’s digital shower had developed a fault, and replacement parts were no longer available. Rather than retile the bathroom, the old control came off, our plug was spliced onto the existing data cable, and a new Retro Large Square was fitted – its oversized backplate completely covering the original mounting hole.
