Inside the processor

What's actually driving the valve, and why a hard reset works.

  • The processor uses a ceramic disc sequential valve (OFF → COLD → HOT), driven by a belt and gears from a stepper motor.
  • A backup battery lets the motor drive the valve fully closed if power is lost mid-cycle, so the shower fails safe rather than being left open.
  • Leaving the unit fully powered off for at least 20 minutes exhausts that backup battery and forces a full reset — useful any time the valve needs recalibrating (a loft-lockout button swap, or a stepper motor that's lost its position), not only for loading new software. If you have changed plumbing and the problem is still present, turn the power off for 20 minutes before concluding the processor is at fault.

Temperature sensors

Where the readings shown on screen actually come from.

  • There's one sensor in the hot inlet, and one in the mixed outlet.
  • On multi (2/3-outlet) units, it's the outlet reading that's shown on the OLED screen.
  • If the outlet sensor fails (TEMPERATURE CONTROL FAILURE), the displayed temperature will not match the water actually being delivered. The shower may still mix and deliver the correct temperature, but the screen reading will be wrong.

55°C spec vs. real-world minimum

Don't rule things out on the spec sheet alone.

  • The manual asks for 55°C minimum hot inlet temperature.
  • In practice, the valve mixes correctly with hot inlet as low as ~45°C — which is also the shower's own highest settable point — and can still deliver full hot with no error.
  • So treat 55°C as a guide rather than a hard cutoff when a boiler is close but not quite reaching it.

Flash codes on both systems

Single and multi (2/3-outlet) units both use the light under the dial.

  • Single-outlet (processor only) units show faults only as a repeating flash count under the control dial (after ~150 seconds).
  • Multi (2/3-outlet) units show the fault name as text on the OLED screen and also flash the light under the dial the same number of times. The flashes are especially useful for older users who find the small screen text hard to read without glasses. Many systems are commissioned as 2-outlet even though the diverter has three ports.

Default temperature on start-up

Safety default — always starts at 38°C.

  • Every time the shower is turned on it starts at 38°C for safety reasons (the ideal shower temperature that gives the brand its name).
  • It is easy to raise the temperature: simply rotate the dial to the right. The maximum settable temperature is 45°C.
  • This is normal behaviour, not a fault.

Default outlet (always starts on outlet 1)

How to change which outlet comes on first.

  • When the shower is turned on it always activates outlet 1.
  • If a different outlet is preferred as the default (for example a hand shower or bath fill instead of the fixed head), the pipe connections on the outlets at the diverter must be swapped so the preferred head is connected to outlet 1.
  • This is normally a simple job for the installer — swap the hoses or pipes across at the diverter.
  • After swapping, re-check commissioning if needed.
